Derry & District Youth FA asked for to use this forum to highlight certain matters pertaining to Institute FC. Institute FC planned to hold Open Trials for players in North West area and were dutifully informed in writing that Institute FC in holding Open Trials, as per IFA instruction, were in breach of Rules. Apparently now, Institute having received from secretary of NIYFA the directive received from IFA about not being permitted to hold Open Trials, believe that if they advertise the matter as ‘Open Training’ rather than ‘Open Trials’, they will circumvent this rule. Having consulted NIYFA secretary who stated Open Trials or Open Training were one and same thing therefore should not happen, we will formally raise the matters with NIYFA in the first instance, then if necessary, with IFA. Derry & District Youth FA Committee.
